Scalpel-Free Vasectomy Services

Scalpel Free Vasectomy is a reliable and minimally invasive procedure for men who have completed their families or have made the decision not to father children in the future. At BE Medical Centre, the procedure is performed using the no-scalpel technique, which involves a single small access rather than scalpel surgical incisions.

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic in our fully equipped clinic. Most patients experience very minimal discomfort. Oral sedation may be offered if clinically suitable, although patients who receive sedation must not drive for 24 hours.

Features of the Service:

  • No scalpel, no stitches technique
  • Local anaesthetic in a medical setting
  • Option for oral sedation (if appropriate)
  • Typically completed within 15-20 minutes
  • Most office-based workers return to work within 1–2 days
  • Post-procedure instructions and semen testing follow-up provided
  • Medicare rebates available

Vasectomy is considered a permanent method of contraception. While surgical reversal may be possible in some cases, it is not guaranteed, may be expensive, and is not covered by Medicare.
