ADVICE REGARDING EFUDIX
Please use this in conjunction with the Product Information you receive with the Efudix cream.
Application
- Apply: twice per day…..\ for 4 weeks / 6 weeks
- Thin layer; applied with your fingertip. Wash finger afterwards.
- Take care to avoid the inside of the mouth, nostrils and the eyes.
- Please avoid swimming, as the skin is more ‘open’ to infection.
- Please avoid excessive sunlight, as the skin has less resistance to sun damage during treatment.
- Stop using Efudix if you become pregnant and please contact the clinic.
- Do not use it when you are breastfeeding.
Expected outcomes
Over the 3 weeks of application, you should expect to see:
- Redness
- Itch
- Flaking
- Small scabs or crust
- A variable amount of irritation that should not be outright ‘pain’
In the 3 weeks after application ends, you should expect to see the redness fade slowly and the skin to heal and feel smooth.
Unexpected outcomes | Over-reactions
- Marked swelling of skin
- Swelling around the eyes
- Large, open sores
- Excessive pain
Follow-Up
- Please may I see you at 1 week and 3 weeks after starting the Efudix.
- However, if you have any concerns at any time, please contact the clinic on the number above.
